The building previously formed part of a planning application, dated June 2012, whereby Leeds granted full permission and listed building consent (11/03697/FU and 11/03713/LI) to rebuild the fire-damaged church as 18 apartments, plus four houses on the Troy Road frontage as enabling development. This has since lapsed but it does demonstrate that the scheme was supported by English Heritage, the Victorian Society, and Morley Town Council and they may look favourably on a fresh scheme.

The owner has advised they would be open to providing access, for development, via their gate on Troy Road, assuming maintenance of this gate was shared. Prospective buyers are advised to make all necessary independent enquiries prior to placing their bid.
