Mark Jenkinson's second sale of the year was a hive of activity as 37 of the 40 lots sold for £3.12 million.The Platinum Suite at Bramall Lane was the busiest for some years as 36 of the lots sold 'in the room' The overall success rate of 92.5% is expected to improve as interest has already been expressed for the three remaining lots
What was most encouraging were the number of people in the room as fiercely competitive bidding led to some outstanding individual results
The top price of the day as expected was the property at Fulwood Road - an investment producing £39,000. This achieved £610,000 against the guide of £550,000
The auction had an emphasis on Local Council lots as land and garages sites sold well for Barnsley and Bassetlaw Councils and redundant buildings went equally well for Rotherham and Doncaster Local authorities
Auctioneer Adrian Little was ecstatic at the end of the sale - "I knew it was going to be busy but the level of interest was well in excess of all expectations and provided more evidence of a buoyant property market"
